Clients ask us about the Beaches Turks and Caicos waterpark more than almost any other amenity at the resort, and fair enough. At 45,000 square feet, Pirates Island is one of the larger all-inclusive waterparks in the Caribbean. In this guide we’ll cover what’s actually on-site, where it sits on the property, the hours, who it’s good for, and what’s included in your stay.
What’s inside Pirates Island Waterpark
The waterpark at Beaches Turks & Caicos is branded as Pirates Island and covers 45,000 square feet. Per the resort’s official fact sheet, the core attractions include:
- Nine waterslides
- A lazy river
- A surf simulator
- Water cannons, cranks, and spray features
The Beaches resort page adds that the park also offers kid-friendly pools, a swim-up soda bar, and an interactive splash deck. In practical terms: enough variety to keep a toddler, a cautious seven-year-old, and a teenager busy on the same afternoon.
One note on what we won’t list here. We don’t publish specific slide brand names, slide heights, or minimum-height requirements, because those aren’t included in the current resort fact sheet. Signage at the park is the authoritative source — check it on arrival before your kids queue for a ride.
Where the Beaches Turks and Caicos waterpark sits on the resort
Pirates Island is inside the resort, in the Italian Village area. The resort’s official bar list places the waterpark’s evening venue, Liquid by Beaches, at “The water park in the Italian Village”, and the daytime quick-service spot, Bobby D’s Bar, at “Pirates Island Pool”. Beaches Turks & Caicos is organized into five villages; for context, see our villages overview or our deeper Italian Village guide.
We don’t publish walk-times between villages — the resort doesn’t stake out official minute-counts and we’re not going to guess. What we can confirm: Pirates Island is a single shared amenity, and guests in any village and any room category have access to it as part of the all-inclusive.
Hours and what’s included at the waterpark
Per the resort’s website, Pirates Island is open daily from 7:00am to 9:00pm — a 14-hour window that covers early-morning lap swimmers and after-dinner splash sessions for the kids.
Access is part of the all-inclusive. Beaches’ own inclusions list names “Pirates Island Waterpark” alongside scuba for certified divers, Hobie Cats, paddleboards, kayaks, land sports, and the resort’s 10 freshwater pools, four whirlpools, and one scuba dive pool. No wristbands, no day-pass upgrade, no per-ride fees — if you’re a registered guest, you’re in. For the full inclusions breakdown, see what’s included at Beaches.
Food and drinks at the waterpark
You don’t have to leave the waterpark area to refuel. Three venues sit on or beside Pirates Island Pool:
| Venue | What it serves | Hours |
|---|---|---|
| Bobby D’s | 50s-style diner | 11:00am–6:00am |
| Bobby D’s Bar | Non-alcoholic drinks (kid-friendly) | 10:00am–5:00pm |
| Liquid by Beaches | Evening bar at the waterpark | 8:00pm–2:00am |
Bobby D’s Bar is the one parents usually want to flag: it’s listed as non-alcoholic in the resort fact sheet, which makes it a natural pit-stop for kids between lazy-river laps. Liquid by Beaches is evenings only and opens after the waterslides close for the day.
Who the waterpark is good for — ages and kids’ programs
The resort’s published age brackets for Pirate’s Island kids programs are 5–7, 8–10, Tweens 11–14, and Teens 15–17. Inside the waterpark complex there’s also:
- An air-conditioned Play Lounge, open daily 8:00am–11:00pm, with a Microsoft Xbox One S gaming partnership.
- Shadow Lounge, aimed at tweens and teens, with pool tables, tie-dye, scavenger hunts, and a bonfire program.
For the youngest guests, Beaches operates separate Camp Sesame nurseries at the Caribbean Village and Key West Village that accept infants and toddlers from 0–11 months, 12–24 months, and 3–4 years. Those aren’t at the waterpark itself, but they pair well with a waterpark day when you have older and younger kids on the same trip. More on that programming in our Sesame Street at Beaches Turks & Caicos write-up.
Height requirements for individual slides aren’t published in the current resort fact sheet. Check posted signage at each ride before your kids queue up.
Much larger than Beaches Negril’s waterpark
Clients who’ve stayed at Beaches Negril often ask how the two waterparks compare. Short answer: Turks & Caicos is much larger. Pirates Island at Turks & Caicos is 45,000 square feet; Pirates Island at Negril is 3,962 square feet — roughly one-eleventh the footprint. The Negril park has two main slides plus smaller kids’ slides; Turks & Caicos has nine slides plus a surf simulator and a lazy river. If a full-scale waterpark is the main driver of your booking, Turks & Caicos is the one.
Next step
If the waterpark is the centerpiece of your trip, we can help pair it with the right room category and village so your family spends less time walking and more time in the water. Read our full Beaches Turks & Caicos review, or get in touch with our advisors when you’re ready to start planning.
